Broadband Customers are becoming more sophisticated, demanding services with very higher availability rates. Therefore, when a fault occurs it is mandatory to quickly identify the cause of the problem to reestablish the service.
This kind of problems can be very complex, since the problem can be located at customer’s own equipment or in the access network. Taking in account, that the great majority of broadband internet accesses still depend on the cooper infrastructure, it is crucial to the ISP to have a technology to test the cooper pairs to accurately assign the fault. This can be definitively achieved in real time by using a UTEL Test Access Switch to switch a Testhead into the customer line circuit.

Lawful Interception and Data Retention
The Lawful Interception Mediation Architecture (LIMA) provided by Group2000, is a unique modular concept supporting a wide range of circuit switched and packet switched network equipment allowing the interception of Internet and VoIP services, PSTN and GSM networks.
LIMA is a complete solution for Lawful Interception. It consists of traffic monitors for intercepting traffic, mediators for delivery to the authorities and an integrated management system.
The LIMA management system is used for the administration of interception warrants. It controls the monitors and mediators but also third party network equipment, from a central location.
LIMA mediators are based on adapters that accept intercepted traffic in any format and deliver it according to local standards. This adapter based architecture gives LIMA the flexibility to integrate with any network.
In situations where existing network equipment does not provide any interception capabilities, LIMA monitors can be used to analyse and filter traffic. Monitors are available for IP networks but also for circuit switched voice networks.
